The Last Trailer for the Final ‘Dune’ Film Is Here

Denis Villeneuve’s Dune films became so beloved so fast, it’s easy to forget the beginning. How around this time, about six years ago, fans had yet to see anything from the filmmaker’s new vision of Frank Herbert’s classic story. Then, the first trailer for the first Dune was released, and we all took notice. More trailers followed. Dune: Part Two was next. And now, today, after years of incredible teases and anticipation, we have what Warner Bros. is calling the final trailer for Villeneuve’s final Dune film, Dune: Part Three.

Set for release on December 18, Dune: Part Three picks up the story where 2024’s Dune: Part Two left off. And while there will certainly be more footage released in commercials, clips, and more up until release, over the past six years, every Dune trailer has become an event. So, it’s sad to think this is the last one. Check it out.

In recent interviews, Villeneuve has talked about how Dune: Part Three is “about something that is very human, which is the idea of a separation, the idea of a divorce.” He’s referring to the betrayal that Chani (Zendaya) felt from Paul (Timothée Chalamet) at the end of Dune: Part Two and how that will carry into this story, years later. Especially with kids now involved.

But this trailer primarily shows the other thing Villeneuve has been saying about his new movie . “This one is a thriller. It’s a more action-packed and more intense film, more muscular than the two others, I would say,” he said.
