For Lego fans, November brings good news and bad news. The bad news is there are only a handful of new releases coming out this month. The good news is one of them is the largest Lego set to date, in terms of pieces: a 12,000-piece whopper that needs to be seen to be believed.
It’s the Sagrada Família cathedral in Barcelona, Spain, and we’ll get more into it below. But also, there’s a killer set for Dragon Ball fans too: a really beautiful build of Shenron & Goku. So let’s talk about those and a few others as we dive into this month’s Lego releases.
Twelve thousand sixty pieces. That’s what’s in the box of the Sagrada Família, which, as of this month, is Lego’s biggest set (by pieces) ever. (The previous record was 11,695.) And while you get some of that size and detail in this image, the official site shows what this beauty looks like inside, and it’s incredibly impressive. And, of course, expensive. ($800, available now)
If I’m being completely honest here, I don’t know much about Dragon Ball . So I don’t know what “Gather all 7 Dragon Balls and bring the Eternal Dragon Shenron to life in a dramatic coiled pose with adjustable head and claws” means. I do know Lego, though, and this set is stunning. The way Shenron flows even though it’s made of angular bricks. The display with the nameplate. The claws. The eyes. Goku riding along. It all fits together beautifully.
