Homegrown social media giant ShareChat’s parent company Mohalla Tech has reported a 40% increase in operating revenue ₹1,016 crore on a year on year basis. QuickTV, the company's newest microdrama led offering, largely led growth for FY26.
In less than a year of QuickTv’s launch, the app has generated subscriptions-led revenue. “QuickTV has not burned ₹1 from day one. It has never burnt any cash at all. That's the role with which we put QuickTV and we never intend to migrate users from ShareChat or Moj out to Quick TV,” Manohar Charan, CFO, Mohalla Tech told CNBC-TV18. The platform has grown 6.5x in 12 months clocking over 1 billion+ views per day since the launch.
Together with microdramas on QuickTV and episodic content on Moj, the company’s subscription revenue has grown to ₹293 crore, nearly offsetting the loss it incurred due to loss of online gaming related advertising revenue stream after August 2025.
The company is positioning QuickTV as a purely subscription driven app. Charan the existing Moj user pipeline is being offered an ad-free experience to join QuickTV even as user acquisition is largely via targeted ads on other social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram and YouTube among others.
For current Moj users, the company is adopting a different user acquisition strategy. “We convert our existing Moj app consumers to premium users or subscribers on Moj itself and once they become subscribers they get access to QuickTV content,” says Charan.
Mohalla Tech’s advertising revenue fell nearly 13% from ₹290 crore in FY25 to ₹250 crores in FY26.
