Pixel Weather homescreen widget adds manual refresh button

Following last month’s icon update , Pixel Weather is getting a slightly more substantial update with a refresh button for the homescreen widget.

This straightforward update adds a refresh button to the top-right corner of the “Forecasted weather” widget. Upon tapping, you’ll briefly see a spinner as the new data loads.

This saves you from having to open the full app if you’re just swiping through your homescreen.

Another tweak we’ve seen in the app is how the Hourly and 10-day forecast cards in the city feed no longer possess left/right buttons to scroll through without swiping.

Version 1.1.20260716.x of Pixel Weather is now widely rolled out via the Play Store.

In related developments, “Pixel’s exclusive weather app” — along with Recorder — will also be available on all Googlebooks going forward.
