Apple Sports adds real-time Grand Slam draws, expands soccer coverage

This week, Apple continued the steady expansion of its Apple Sports app, broadening its soccer coverage while also giving tennis fans a new way to follow some of the most important tournaments. Here’s what’s new.

When Apple first released the Apple Sports app , it offered a rather limited experience, both in terms of availability and which sports it actually covered.

Since then, the app has evolved on both fronts, expanding to more than 170 countries and regions while steadily adding support for new sports, leagues, and tournaments.

Earlier this year, for instance, Apple Sports reached 90 new countries and also introduced several features around the FIFA World Cup.

This week, Apple Sports was updated once again, adding the Australian A-League Men, Egyptian Premier League, Israeli Premier League, and South African Premiership to its soccer lineup.

Additionally, the app now lets tennis fans “follow tournament draws in real-time […], with brackets for Grand Slams and 1000-level tournaments,” says Apple, adding that users can “see matchups and results at a glance for each round.”

The soccer lineup continues to grow, with Australian A-League Men, Egyptian Premier League, Israeli Premier League, and South African Premiership.
