Kimi Antonelli is all set to be crowned world champion at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.
Round 19 of the 2026 Formula One season looks sure to be a coronation for the youngest-ever Drivers’ Championship winner, as Kimi Antonelli prepares to make history at the Mexican Grand Prix.
A finish in ninth place or above on Sunday will ensure the 20-year-old Mercedes star becomes F1’s youngest champion. A retirement from the race could even see the Italian lift the trophy; his nearest challengers, George Russell and Lewis Hamilton, both need a win to have any chance of keeping their razor-thin title hopes alive.
One of the best-attended Grand Prix on the F1 calendar, the Mexican GP poses a unique extra challenge for the drivers. The Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez circuit, situated 2,285 meters above sea level, radically alters grip levels and the effectiveness of car cooling systems.
