Lego’s $450 Godzilla Is Here to Smash All Your Other Sets to Pieces

Godzilla fans have been patiently waiting for their favorite kaiju to join the Lego family, and today, on Godzilla Day, it’s happened. Lego just officially revealed its long-awaited Godzilla set, and it’s pretty awesome, even if it is $450.

First created in 2023, resubmitted in 2024, and finally approved in 2025, the Lego Ideas Godzilla will be released on November 27. It consists of 5,363 pieces (the largest Lego Ideas set to date) and measures over two feet tall when he’s shooting his heat ray, which can be swapped in and out.

One kind of major caveat, though, is that it’s based on Legendary’s Monsterverse Godzilla design, which is fine, but we do kind of wish it was the old-school Toho design. Nevertheless, check out a few images.

“Building Lego Godzilla was a real passion project,” designer Matthew Esposito, who created the original Lego Ideas set, said. “I’ve loved both Lego building and Godzilla for years, so I wanted to capture his shape, scale, and character as accurately as I could. The head was definitely the biggest challenge, but seeing the model come together and eventually reach 10,000 supporters after more than two years was incredible. I’m so grateful to everyone who supported the project and helped make this dream a reality.”

Also, fans who order the set in the first few days will get this fun little gift with purchase of the Godzilla Logo and Footprint.
