These midterm elections will determine several high-stakes races for US Senate and state offices. Here’s how to keep up.
More than 100 million Americans are slated to head to the polls in this midterm election cycle. With key races for US Senate, governor and every seat in the US House of Representatives on the ballot, you’re likely going to be itching to find out which candidates sealed a victory. With such high stakes, news outlets, social media and online publications are likely going to be overwhelmed with updates, predictions and commentary.
But to cut through the noise and find out the results you actually care about, here are some tips to keep track of election results on Tuesday, especially in key battleground states like Alaska, Iowa, Ohio and Texas.
You can typically find confirmed Election Day results online on an official state government website, such as the secretary of state’s site or the state board of elections site. But if you’re not interested in hopping from state website to state website, there are simpler – yet still trustworthy – methods to find out race results.
One of the simplest ways to keep track of election results is via Google, which pulls midterm election results from The Associated Press, a longstanding source with a history of accurate election results.
To access it, just fire up Google and type “election” or “election results,” and a panel will appear at the top of Google, giving you different options to browse through, including overview (top stories, news and so on), results and more.
