Google Photos is rolling out a handful of new features, including a Redact Markup tool and “Moods” on Android.

The upgraded Markup tool adds three features, starting with a Redact pen that lets you blur/pixelate sensitive info in screenshots and images. There are also precise thickness sliders for the Pen and new fonts in the Text tool. This is rolling out globally to Google Photos for Android.

Moods let you easily apply a “nostalgic, vintage-inspired look” to pictures, including Crisp 35mm (film), 2000’s night (digicam), Retro contrast, Night light, Blue Haze, Any Minimalist, and Rich textures. You get slider controls, with each mood “intelligently adapt[ing] to your images.” This is rolling out globally on Android.

There are also 15 new Remix templates, including red carpet moments, whimsical birthday cards, and photo booth shots. This is rolling out in select countries on Android and iOS.

Google Photos is also highlighting how the Wardrobe feature is now available in Brazil, India, and the US on Android and iOS. An AI Pro or AI Ultra subscription is required. There’s also the Photos integration in Gemini Spark announced earlier this month.
