Frammer AI, an AI-native video studio, has partnered with Collective Newsroom, which produces content for the BBC in India in nine languages. Frammer will power Collective Newsroom’s video workflows, including repurposing of content.
According to Frammer, the partnership is helping public service journalism reach more people through digital-first formats.
Frammer automates the main steps of video production and distribution. Its platform takes in content, repurposes and clips it, and publishes it to different digital platforms in one click.
“With Frammer and the ethical use of AI, Collective Newsroom aims to strengthen its ability to deliver creative, credible, and courageous journalism efficiently, without compromising on human judgment, editorial integrity, or public trust,” said Sara Hassan, COO, Collective Newsroom.
Suparna Singh, CEO, Frammer AI, spoke about how the newsroom is approaching the technology. “It’s terrific to see such an experienced team embracing AI responsibly, with editorial rigour and strong brand safety checks at every step,” she said.
Four former BBC employees in India founded Collective Newsroom in 2024. It now has more than 250 journalists. It is the sole provider of content for BBC News in India, which covers the television channel, nine Indian-language websites, social media platforms and the BBC News India YouTube channel.
The former management team of NDTV set up Frammer AI in 2023. The company says its platform helps publishers move content as quickly as social media demands.
Frammer says it works with some of the world’s largest publishers. These include ABS-CBN in the Philippines, Media Prima in Malaysia and Medialivre in Portugal.
