First look: Following months of fervent speculation and multiple official previews, Bentley has finally revealed the Torcal, its first fully electric vehicle. It is the fourth model line in Bentley's current portfolio, joining the Flying Spur luxury sedan, Continental GT/GTC coupe and convertible, and Bentayga SUV.

Like other modern Bentleys, the Torcal is also named after a natural wonder. Bentley says the name comes from El Torcal de Antequera, a natural reserve in the Sierra del Torcal mountains of Andalusia, Spain, known for its striking limestone rock formations, high cliffs, and deep caves.

Designed and engineered at Bentley's headquarters in Crewe in northwest England, the Torcal SUV is based on the Porsche Cayenne Electric's 800-volt PPE platform. However, while the Cayenne EV delivers around 1,156 hp and 1,106 lb-ft of torque in its flagship Turbo variant, the Torcal focuses more on luxury and offers relatively restrained performance.

The Torcal is available in two trims: a base Core model and a sportier S variant. Both feature a 113.2 kWh battery that Bentley claims delivers an estimated range of up to 375 miles on the WLTP cycle, or around 320 miles under EPA testing. The battery supports up to 400 kW of DC fast charging, which can charge it from 10% to 80% in just 16 minutes or add 100 miles of range in just seven minutes.

In terms of performance, both the Core and S trims feature the same dual-motor permanent-magnet synchronous powertrain with an all-wheel-drive layout. In the flagship Torcal S, the setup delivers up to 888 PS (876 hp) of power and 1,350 Nm (996 lb-ft) of torque, while the Core variant delivers 821 PS (810 hp) and 1,194 Nm (852 lb-ft) of torque.
