October Prime Day may sound like a strange time to buy a ceiling fan, but I’ve often argued that the fall and winter months are the best time to get a good deal on cooling options. That’s certainly the case for Dreo’s Ceiling Fan 712S. It’s a top-tier smart ceiling fan designed for larger rooms that I’ve been using and enjoying in my living room for the past year.
In fact, I like it so much that I bought and installed a second one in my office, and I’m planning to buy one more while it’s on sale for 15% off, bringing its $220 price down to $187. I also picked up the smaller Ceiling Fan 513, normally $170 on Amazon, for $143 to install in my wife’s office.
My electrician, who installed both the 712S models in my living room and office and the 513 model in my wife’s office, commented that it was one of the easiest sets of fans he’d ever installed.
The design itself is attractive and works well in my brightly lit living room, which is painted sky blue. I picked the white model with a light-colored faux wood finish for my living room. I also picked up the same model for my office since it runs a similar color scheme with a darker blue on the walls. The design works well for any more modern- and contemporary-looking spaces.
I’ve been a long-time believer in the humble ceiling fan. Sure, it’s not flashy or cutting-edge tech, but a ceiling fan is one of the easiest, most energy-efficient ways to keep a room cool without running a loud, costly window air conditioner .
