A Dota 2 pro says he talked his way out of a police raid by playing a match for the officers

WTF?! Nuengnara "23savage" Teeramahanon says he scored 32 kills in a Dota 2 match while police watched, in an effort to prove he is a professional gamer. The Xipto Esports carry maintains the performance persuaded officers to release his team after a raid on its Kuala Lumpur boot camp. The story has drawn attention and plenty of disbelief, and nothing independent has surfaced to confirm that the encounter happened as he described it.

In a Facebook post, 23savage said officers raided the facility, handcuffed him and teammates Fbz and Oli, and confiscated their belongings. They questioned why the team was in the city and whether its members were professional players.

His account has drawn skepticism, including from commenters who thought he was joking. He has continued to defend the story in replies. According to 23savage, one officer knew Dota and looked through his Instagram account for evidence of his career. A recent photograph with Malaysian influencer Ms. Puiyi apparently helped: he said officers removed his handcuffs after seeing it.

He then launched Dota 2 and played a full match in front of them. He chose Kez, played the hard-carry role and finished with 32 kills.

He said that performance persuaded the officers he was a professional player, and they let the team go. He also alleged that an officer took two jars of Nutella before leaving.

The match is the most unusual part of his account. The officers allegedly went from checking a social media profile to watching him play the game he competes in.
