The company said paying users will get extra storage but did not reveal a pricing structure or offer details about when new features would roll out.
Meta has revealed new information about its coming Edits subscription package, which will give paying users access to expanded storage, as well as more usage of its artificial intelligence tools.
Meta previewed the coming Edits subscription option last month as part of a broader announcement of its expanding suite of add-on subscription offerings.
The company is now providing more information on these soon-to-be-released Edits features and subscription.
As explained by Meta: “Edits Plus is a paid subscription that unlocks additional cloud storage and AI usage, expanding what you can create. You can subscribe with an Instagram personal or professional creator account on the Edits mobile app.”
Where and when it’s available, Edits users can sign up for Edits Plus in the app. Meta has not yet shared pricing information.
That should allow creators to extend their workflow and manage multiple projects.
A paid add-on for Edits has been in development since the video editing app launched, with Instagram Chief Adam Mosseri repeatedly saying that Meta will eventually need to charge for some Edits features due to the rising costs of operating AI systems.
In addition to extra storage, Meta will likely look to add more features to entice paying users over time.
Meta said that Edits Plus will only be available via the Edits mobile app, and the package will be launched in limited testing soon.
