Xbox's version of PlayStation's Platinum Trophy achievement seems to leak, and it's got a sound-effect that's 15 seconds long

I'm not sure what's more surprising: that Xbox never had a Platinum Trophy equivalent, that Xbox feels the need to have a Platinum Trophy equivalent, or that it's adding a Platinum Trophy equivalent now while restructuring the company.

Nevertheless, that's what Microsoft appears to be doing. The Xbox PC App has reportedly been updated with a new Xbox Mythic Achievement that features an elaborate starred and laurelled symbol design, and an accompanying unlock sound that's 15-seconds long!

The update was spotted by reputable Xbox-watcher Klobrille, with website TrueAchievements adding that Mythic Achievements are worth zero Gamerscore and apparently retroactive. But there's no official confirmation of the Achievement yet, nor confirmation if it works exactly like a PlayStation Platinum Trophy - which is to say you earn it after earning every other Achievement or Trophy in a game. We've asked Microsoft for clarification.

All this comes after Xbox leader Asha Sharma, responding to a question on Twitter, previously suggested a Platinum Trophy equivalent was on its way. Sharma said: "Team is working on something for later this year!" The comment was made in relation to a wider Achievement overhaul Microsoft announced it was working on.

The Mythic naming, incidentally, is a nod to Halo's top-tier difficulty, although it's also a naming convention the Xbox-owned studio Blizzard has adopted across its wide roster of games to denote 'the absolute best thing' you can get, or challenge that you can face.
