Xbox Officially Makes 4 Games 100% Free Until August 30, Plus a Bonus Freebie

Xbox's Free Play Days Promotion is back with four new free games to check out over the weekend, plus a bonus freebie. As always, the Xbox Free Play Days Promotion has a couple of caveats, namely that sometimes games require Xbox Game Pass to check out. Two of the games this weekend require Xbox Game Pass, but two are free for all Xbox gamers. And while players have almost unlimited access to them, they will lose the games when the free play period comes to an end.

Of course, as noted below for each game, there's usually (though not always) a discount associated with these Xbox games. If something does tickle someone's fancy and it's not enough time to finish (or they just really, really like it), it's worth looking into the discounted price.

A new Steam promotion lets users play a 2019 open-world sandbox game completely free of charge for a limited time.

The Xbox Free Play Days free games for August 27-August 30 are Control: Ultimate Edition and Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves , which are all available to ALL Xbox gamers, while Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker and ARK: Survival Ascended are free for those with an Xbox Game Pass subscription (although these games are NOT Xbox Game Pass titles). Xbox Free Play Days is also promoting the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta that begins on Friday, August 28, as a highlighted bonus freebie.
