Xbox Officially Makes 4 Games 100% Free Through September 27, Includes Open-World Game

Through September 27, Xbox gamers are able to download and play 4 games at absolutely no charge thanks to a new limited-time promotion. It's worth noting that there are some requirements for two of these games, including a necessary Xbox Game Pass subscription, but the other two are deemed Free for All, so anyone can download and check those out.

Xbox's Free Play Days promotion goes live every Thursday, including anywhere from a game or two to 4+ regularly. They are not necessarily created equal or doled out equally. For example, it's possible some weeks do not have Free for All games, but for those concerned about that, at least that's not this weekend. That said, fans should be aware that they will have access to these Xbox games for a limited time, until September 27, and afterward they will no longer be available (sometimes discounts on these games are, though).

September 2026 continues to hand out free games to keep, courtesy of Steam, Amazon Prime Gaming (Amazon Luna), Epic Games, and more.

Xbox's Free Play Days Promotion for September 24-September 27 includes The Escapists 2 and Young Suns for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, as well as PGA Tour 2K25 and The Division 2 for anyone and everyone. The easiest way to access these games is to navigate to the Microsoft Store on an Xbox, click on the subscriptions tab, and navigate down to the Xbox Free Play Days promotion (either on Xbox One or Xbox Series X/S).
