Xbox Nano Controller Announced, And It’s So Small

Microsoft has announced a new controlled called the Xbox Nano Controller, and it's smaller than the existing Xbox controller, and it costs less.

Microsoft says the controller is designed to fit nearly every pocket and budget. "Its compact design offers a great option for younger players, smaller hands, or anyone seeking something portable for play on the go," the company said.

The Xbox Nano controller is a bit over 5 inches in length and weights 3.5 ounces--it's the smallest controller Microsoft has ever made. It features all 18 gameplay buttons you'd expect, so Microsoft says it should feel familiar.

The smaller controller comes with a smaller price, too: $50 USD. Microsoft partnered with Samsung on a bundle that comes with a controller and two months of Game Pass Ultimate (for new subscribers) when they buy a new Samsung TV this holiday.

Additionally, Microsoft and Facebook company Meta are working on a new bundle featuring the Nano controller, two months of Game Pass, and a Meta Quest headset.

The Xbox Nano controller uses rechargeable batteries and a programmable action button for quick access to things players want, like taking a screenshot or capturing gameplay.

You can preorder the Xbox Nano controller now. The Nano was the second new gaming controller revealed today, following Sony's announcement of a limited-edition DualSense controller for Gran Turismo.
