Xbox Game Pass Officially Confirms New Game Coming in November

Xbox Game Pass is adding Thronefall on November 11, the same day the minimalist strategy game makes its debut on the Series X/S and receives its very first piece of downloadable content. While several other titles are already expected to join the service in November 2026, Thronefall is the month's first confirmed Xbox Game Pass addition with an officially announced release date.

Originally developed by German studio GrizzlyGames, Thronefall is a genre hybrid combining elements of tower defense and city-building games into a sleek-looking experience that is easy to get into. Players spend each day developing a small kingdom, balancing investments in its economy and defenses before protecting it against enemy waves at night. The game entered Steam Early Access in August 2023, with its 1.0 version launching for PC and the Nintendo Switch in October 2024.

Xbox responds to rumors that Game Pass may drop day-one releases in 2027, offering a bit more context to its near-future plans.

British publisher Mythwright revealed Thronefall's first expansion, Craaghelm, on September 25, announcing it alongside the Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 ports of the 2024 title. Both the DLC and the new versions of the minimalist strategy will launch on November 11, 2026, the same day Thronefall makes its newly confirmed Xbox Game Pass debut. As is customarily the case, only the base game will be available via Microsoft's subscription service, with Craaghelm sold separately for an as-yet-undisclosed price.

While day-one Xbox Game Pass releases are typically restricted to the PC Game Pass and XGP Ultimate libraries, titles such as Thronefall represent a somewhat different case.
