Iron is a staple resource in most crafting survival games, and that is no different in Graveyard Keeper 2. The metal is required to craft more advanced gear, helping players build their economy and progress through the story. Early on, Iron rocks can be found around the player's base, but they will not be able to mine them straight away, needing to level up their Metallurgy stat. As Iron does not grow back, players will then need to find other Iron locations in Graveyard Keeper 2 and eventually come up with a permanent solution for infinite Iron.

Iron rocks thankfully aren't too hard to find in the area around the Inquisitor's Base, otherwise known as home. In the early game, players needn't look further than this and should obtain enough Iron Ore to get them set up. The main problem is that this ore cannot be mined until players meet the Metallurgy stat requirement.

To actually mine Iron, players will need a Metallurgy Mastery rating of 3. To reach this, you will want to craft and equip a Bronze Hammer. While you actually mine with a Pickaxe, the hammer boosts your Metallurgy by +2.

To reach 3, you will also need to unlock the first Metallurgy Perk , which grants +1 Mastery. To do so, you will want to complete Metallurgy Inspirations , such as destroying broken barrels, mining Copper Nuggets , and crafting Bronze items.
