World of Warcraft: Forever lets you learn up to two primary professions at a time, but you aren't stuck with your first choice. Maybe you picked Mining and Herbalism to earn gold selling materials at the auction house while leveling, only to decide later you'd rather craft your own gear or potions.
Fortunately, you can unlearn a profession to make room for a new one. Before switching, though, it's worth knowing where to find the option and what happens to your progress. We also encountered an issue with the unlearn button, but found a workaround that fixed it for us.
Once you confirm, that profession is removed, and its slot becomes available. You can then visit a profession trainer to learn a new profession.
However, unlearning a profession resets your skill progress and removes the recipes you've unlocked. If you take up that profession again later, your previous progress won't return automatically, and you'll have to relearn its recipes. This applies to both purchased and looted recipes.
Only primary professions count toward the two-profession limit. Cooking, Fishing, and First Aid are secondary professions, and you can learn all three without using either primary slot.
A World of Warcraft Forever player has taken matters into their own hands after the flood of new Olympus guilds overseen by Asmongold.
We encountered an issue where the red X appeared as a blank space in the Professions window. The Unlearn tooltip appeared next to the blank space when we hovered over it, but we couldn't click the button.
