The vivo X500 Pro Max has moved from rumor status to an official China launch, with sales starting on September 24, 2026. The phone brings a 6.85-inch 2K display, a MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro chip, an 8,000mAh battery, and a 200MP ZEISS super-telephoto camera. The camera system also adds a new 50MP Sony LYTIA L910 main sensor with LOFIC technology and a claimed 17EV of true dynamic range.
The Pro Max sits at the top of vivo's X500 range, with a focus on camera hardware, video tools, battery capacity, and high-end performance. China gets five memory and storage variants, with prices from CNY 6,999 for 12GB RAM and 256GB storage to CNY 12,999 for the 16GB RAM and 1TB Creator Edition.
The X500 Pro Max uses a 6.85-inch BOE Q11 ZEISS Master Color OLED panel. The screen supports an adaptive 1Hz to 144Hz refresh rate, which allows a low refresh rate for static content and a high rate for smoother motion.
The large panel also sets the Pro Max apart from the smaller 6.36-inch X500 Pro. Its 2K resolution suits photo review and video playback, while the 144Hz peak rate gives the display room for smooth motion in games.
MediaTek's Dimensity 9600 Pro handles core performance. 1GHz. Memory options reach 16GB RAM, while storage goes up to 1TB. OriginOS 7 runs on Android 17 and handles the software side.
