Vinland Saga, originally created by Makoto Yukimura, is one of the most famous and widely beloved seinen series. The story has found great success through its compelling cast of characters and its incredible worldbuilding. Vinland Saga's manga was already famous, but its anime adaptations by Wit and MAPPA Studios took its popularity to the next level and made it a global icon.

Sadly, Vinland Saga Season 2 finished airing 3 years ago, back in 2023. Now, in 2026, fans all over the world are wondering about the status of Vinland Saga’s next installment, Vinland Saga Season 3. Unfortunately for fans of this hit Seinen series, creator Yukimura confirms that work on the new season isn't underway at the moment. For the next installment of Vinland Saga, it seems the wait is still going to be incredibly long, and the future will be filled with uncertainty.

Vinland Saga is one of the most famous works that fall under the seinen category, in the same league as the likes of Berserk or Vagabond. Originally, Vinland Saga was created by Makoto Yukimura and published in Weekly Shōnen Magazine starting in April 2005. The series would go on to run in it for years afterwards, and it was eventually switched to Monthly Afternoon Magazine the same year.

Vinland Saga had a long and successful serialization overall. The manga concluded with the final chapter recently, in July 2025, wrapping up over two decades of storylines and character arcs. The ending was well received by the millions of fans following this exciting story, but with the end of the manga, fans have turned their attention toward the next biggest project of the series: the TV anime.
