In its latest update, Steam has added a brand-new Personal Calendar feature to its store page. This new Steam Personal Calendar feature will give players tailored recommendations based on the games they've put the most hours into.
According to SteamDB, an average of around 70 new games were added to Steam every day last year. With this immense output, it's often difficult for players to separate the wheat from the chaff and find experiences that they know will genuinely suit their interests. The Steam front page already does a decent job of highlighting featured discounts, new releases, and recommendations based on games users have played before, but this latest Steam update takes things up a notch.
Don't miss out on any of October's free games across Steam, Epic Games Store, Amazon Prime Gaming, PlayStation Plus, and Xbox Game Pass.
Steam has just officially launched the Personal Calendar feature for all users. The Steam Personal Calendar offers a new way to view recommendations on the front page, focusing primarily on games that have just released and games that are coming out in the next few months. Unlike Steam's other methods of recommendation, the Personal Calendar bases its results on the games users have recently sunk the most time into.
More specifically, the Steam Personal Calendar works by taking the games users have recently put multiple hours into, finding other profiles with similar playtime behaviors, and recommending games based on the other titles those users have been playing and wishlisting. While the Personal Calendar is refreshed daily, Steam states in its announcement post that users are unlikely to see significant changes in their calendar every day as the system focuses on finding games that are very similar to those users have put the most time into.
