The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Remake Breaks Street Date By Five Days

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake doesn't launch until November 5, but someone was already playing it on Halloween.

We won't link to or embed the post here for obvious reasons, but Reddit user u/Robnaratt34 uploaded a picture of the Switch 2 home menu showing them "playing" Ocarina of Time, with photo proof in the comments featuring gameplay and dialogue. They even answered fan questions in the thread on details that Nintendo has yet to officially show off, explaining changes and what settings were present.

As for how u/Robnaratt34 got their hands on Ocarina of Time five days before everyone else, they claim to have bought a physical cartridge on the Facebook Marketplace—though how the seller obtained it remains unclear. It's possible that a third-party retailer accidentally broke the street date, as often happens ahead of major launches, though stolen stock remains a possibility given past incidents like Starfield.

Even though they haven't signed an NDA, sharing screenshots ahead of launch puts players squarely in Nintendo's crosshairs. The console giant is notoriously quick with copyright strikes and takedowns for pre-launch footage, and u/Robnaratt34 isn't the only one breaking the street date; other commenters have begun sharing screenshots and answering questions, too.

Then again, breaking street date is hardly going to be Nintendo's biggest worry right now, as the first-ever Switch 2 emulator, Eden-NX2, just went public . It's already running dumped games like Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza , raising the very real possibility that the Ocarina of Time remake could be playable on PC at launch.
