September State Of Play PlayStation Showcase Has Been Revealed With Fans Hopping Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet Makes An Appearence

Sony is wasting no time kicking off the fall gaming season. It announced a new September PlayStation State of Play Showcase that will include a fresh deep dive into Final Fantasy VII Revelation. But what about Sony’s first-party games like Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet? Fans have wanted a fresh glimpse of the new Naughty Dog sci-fi action game for a while as rumors swirl about its development.

“First, tune in for a new State of Play featuring updates and announcements from PlayStation Studios and our third-party partners, concluding with an extended look at the vast world of Final Fantasy VII Revelation from our friends at Square Enix,” Sony announced over on the PlayStation Blog. “Immediately following, stay tuned for a new episode of State of Play Japan, once again hosted by Yuki Kaji. State of Play Japan will offer deep dives into upcoming games from game studios in Japan and Asia, including new gameplay, announcements, and more.”

The State of Play starts at 9:00 a.m. ET on September 3, followed immediately by the State of Play Japan. The latter will be in Japanese but have English subtitles. Neither was given an estimated run time, so it’s hard to gauge if this will be one of the bigger PlayStation Showcases or a more bite-sized reel of trailers and updates.

Sony has a full slate of games coming up, with Marvel’s Wolverine out later this month, and God of War Laufey out in February. On the third-party front, Grand Theft Auto 6 will go off like a bomb this November, followed by Revelation in “early” 2027.
