Samsung is killing a smart TV hub that just got a major Google Photos upgrade

TL;DR Samsung is discontinuing its Daily Plus smart TV hub after October 30, 2026, according to a notice spotted by Android Authority .

The shutdown comes after Samsung integrated Google Photos into Daily Plus, raising questions about what happens to the Memories experience.

Apps previously available through Daily Plus will remain accessible through the TV’s Apps service, although some hub-specific features may be affected.

Samsung recently made Google Photos a bigger part of its smart TV experience , integrating the service into its Daily Plus hub so users could revisit their favorite memories right from their TVs. It was another step toward making Samsung TVs useful for more than just streaming movies and shows. But just as that integration is finding its feet, Samsung is preparing to shut down the very hub that houses it.

We spotted an end-of-service announcement on a recently purchased Samsung UHD Smart TV (2026) running the latest One UI Tizen firmware.
