Nearly two minutes of footage purportedly showing a remake of the original Persona surfaced online on October 31, giving fans a glimpse of what a modern reimagining could look like. While Atlus has yet to confirm the project's existence or the footage's authenticity, the clips appear to showcase updated combat, exploration, and narrative presentation. As exciting as the possibility is, I think Atlus faces a particularly difficult challenge if the remake is real: finding a way to modernize the first Persona without losing the darker identity that made it so different from the entries that followed.
