Ubisoft has officially confirmed that Rayman Legends Retold will feature skins based on Clair Obscur: Expedition 33’s iconic baguette outfits.
As is almost the norm for Ubisoft games, Rayman Legends Retold was leaked well ahead of its announcement during a State of Play. One of the most interesting parts of the early reports was that Retold would feature some new crossover skins based on some surprising games outside of Ubisoft’s wheelhouse.
The leak claimed that Astro Bot and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 were going to be represented through new outfits. It’s been so long since Retold was announced that it seemed like that rumour was nothing but hot air, but it was actually at least half true this whole time, as the Clair Obscur costumes have just been unveiled.
Ahead of Rayman Legends Retold’s appearance at Paris Games Week, Ubisoft fittingly confirmed that the game will feature a lovely nod to Clair Obscur Expedition 33. That nod is the inclusion of Clair’s beloved baguette outfits, which were thought up as a “tribute from one French studio to another”.
Loic Gounon talks to us about Retold’s recent delay, the possibility of revisiting other games, and much more.
As you can tell from the screenshot above, Rayman and Barbara are absolutely rocking the baguette look, with Rayman even getting Gustave’s metal hand and Barbara’s axe being turned into a loaf. The new skins will be available for all players on day one of Retold’s launch, and join the Ubisoft tribute outfits that are making their way over from the original Legends .
