Pixel Search could soon get a Gemini-powered upgrade along with privacy improvements

TL;DR The latest Pixel Search update adds a new “Privacy & Permissions” section in the Pixel Search app’s settings.

It lets users choose whether they want the app to use their call logs and SMS history to improve contact suggestions.

We also spotted evidence that a new “Gemini-powered suggestions” feature could be introduced in the Pixel Search app.

The new Pixel Search app that comes preloaded on the Pixel 11 series makes the app drawer more useful than ever before. It lets users search for photos, emails, contacts, and more. Now, it seems Google is prepping to give the app a Gemini-powered upgrade while also giving users more control over their call logs and message data in Pixel Search.
