Pistol Build Guide in Valor Mortis

The Pistol is one of the first weapons you obtain in Valor Mortis. It makes sense for the weapon to be balanced, serving more as a utility weapon for exploring the world. However, with this build, you can turn it into a deadly weapon that rivals those you obtain in the endgame. In this guide, I'll explain how to amplify the Pistol's damage, and make it useful in any situation.

Valor Mortis, the latest project from Ghostrunner developer One More Level, is absolutely wonderful, though not without its flaws.

This Pistol build is entertaining because it combines two core mechanics into a single playstyle. This build literally allows you to apply Ignite on enemies, then consume it to cause a huge explosion, dealing massive damage.

The first mechanic is to fire amplified Pistol bullets that deal significant damage to enemies. The second is to apply the Ignite effect to enemies, consuming it to trigger an AoE explosion. The idea is to combine both mechanics by triggering the explosion with an amplified bullet to deal serious damage.

Since you're using both Pistol and Saber, you don't need to use the fire spell to apply Ignite. Instead, infuse both weapons with fire using the Flaming Whetstone and Fire-Clad Rounds.

For stats, this Pistol build needs perks that increase firearm damage. Among the most important stats to focus on are Headshot Damage, Ammo Restock, and Status Buildup.

Sixth Sense increases your Pistol's damage whenever you trigger a perfect dodge. You'll have plenty of opportunities to trigger this effect during combat.
