Oni Press Reveals New Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake Spinoff Series

We all love a good Adventure Time story, but sometimes it's nice when Finn and Jake take a backseat in favor of their gender-swapped, alternate-universe counterparts, Fionna and Cake. That's why we're pleased to see Oni Press giving that Dynamic Duo their own series.

IGN can exclusively debut the cover art for Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake #1. Check it out in the slideshow gallery below:

Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake is a four-issue series written by Jenna Ayoub (My Little Pony: Classics Reimagined—Little Fillies) and drawn by Damali Beatty (Bestiary). The first issue features covers by Ayoub, Nicole Goux, Reggie Graham, Dakota Cates, and Calculus Homework.

“We’re so excited to bring Fionna & Cake back to comic books!” said Oni Press editor Megan Brown in a statement. “The fans demanded more Fionna & Cake comics and we listened! This vibrant adventure under the Big Top promises new characters, familiar faces, and a whole host of circus-related shenanigans, brought to life by the magnificent duo of Jenna Ayoub and Damali Beatty! Straight from the pages of Ice King’s beloved fanfic, our favorite heroes have become fantastic reality—and might just have bitten off more than they can chew with this whole circus thing…”

Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake #1 will be released on January 13. You can preorder a copy at your local comic shop.

Oni is also currently crowdfunding a massive set called the Adventure Time Deluxe Comics Library, collecting every issue published since 2012.
