Haki is one of the most important powers in the world of One Piece that Eiichiro Oda has expanded upon in the latter half of the story. It was properly introduced by Silvers Rayleigh in One Piece chapter 597, released on August 30, 2010, and the idea of it has been expanding ever since. In the Elbaf arc of One Piece, Eiichiro Oda has expanded upon the applications as well as the users of Haki tremendously.
Now, with the introduction of Nerona Imu, the King of the World, in One Piece chapter 1179 on April 5, 2026, Oda has thrown a powerful ancient Haki user into the mix. That said, after taking a proper look at Imu's Haki performance, it can be stated with absolute confidence that Nerona Imu is not the strongest ancient Haki user in One Piece. That title still belongs to none other than Joy Boy, the former wielder of Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika, whose Haki was briefly glimpsed in the Egghead arc.
One Piece chapter 1122 was officially released on August 5, 2024, in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump double Issue 36-37. Back then, fans had no idea how strong Joy Boy truly was, but Eiichiro Oda gave them a glimpse of his incredible Haki. This Haki proved to be so strong that it managed to split the skies by itself , nullified the abilities of the Five Elders, sent them back to the Holy Land of Marijoa, knocked out all the Marine Vice Admirals, and, above all, caused tremendous pain to Nerona Imu.
