One Piece Officially Announces Setup for Luffy's Gear 6

One Piece is currently in the climax of the Elbaf arc, where the Strawhat Pirates are fighting the biggest battles of their lifetime as the threat of Nerona Imu and the World Government attempts to engulf the giant country. The recent chapters of One Piece, including One Piece Chapter 1197, have thrown a ton of focus on Luffy's wings, Zoro, and Sanji.

In One Piece Chapter 1194, released officially on September 28, 2026, in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 44, Roronoa Zoro was given his Elbaf arc power-up in the form of the Color of the Supreme King. In One Piece Chapter 1197, which is set to be released on November 1, Sanji is getting his own Conqueror's Haki power-up. With both Zoro and Sanji now having received their ultimate power-ups, it is time for Monkey D. Luffy to tap into his next power-up as well, which is, more likely than not, going to be Gear 6.

One Piece's Straw Hat Pirates have grown in a multitude of ways in the Elbaf arc, and over half of the crew has received a tremendous upgrade in one form or another. When it comes to those who have received small power-ups, we have Franky and Chopper. In the case of Franky, he was given a new power-up with the reveal of Omni Drain Converters in chapter 1176 , officially released on March 9, 2026, in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump issue 15. This power-up was tremendous and scaled Franky to a similar level to that of Jinbe, one of the Warlords of the Sea.
