One Piece Could Be Coming to Fortnite Soon

With the end of Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 fast approaching, it's time to prepare for what comes next: the annual mini-season. Various rumors suggest that the mini-season will be all about the best-selling manga and anime series One Piece. Epic Games has remained silent about the season's theme. However, an interesting detail found in the game files might have just given fans the confirmation they needed.

The last update of Chapter 7 Season 4 went live on Oct. 15, adding the final bit of Fortnitemares content before Halloween rolls around. Chapter 8 will completely change the Battle Royale, as the current island, weapons, theme, and key mechanics will all be replaced. Epic releases a mini-season between chapters to help players transition.

Mini-seasons are based around a theme. Last year, that was The Simpsons. The map turned into Springfield, and the mini-pass allowed players to get an array of themed, cell-shaded cosmetics. In the past few weeks, there have been rumors that have led players to believe that this year, we will have a One Piece mini-season.

As data miners dug through the latest update's files, they discovered an ominous pirate chest. It is believed that this chest is related to this season's final event, which is expected to take players to a new place — perhaps Blue Planet.

Another notable discovery was a new lore loading screen, which portrays Jonesy and Hope falling through a crack in reality alongside the pirate chest. Loading screens are easy to brush off as meaningless, but they are often connected with Fortnite lore and tell a whole story.
