One Piece: 8 Characters Zoro Failed To Beat, Ranked

Roronoa Zoro is one of the strongest characters in the world of One Piece and one of the two main combatants of the Straw Hat Pirates, along with Sanji. He's incredibly strong and aims to become the World's Strongest Swordsman.

As such, Zoro has been in a multitude of battles over the years and triumphed in nearly all of them. That said, there are a select few characters that Zoro has failed to defeat for one reason or another, and Eiichiro Oda has certainly highlighted quite a few of them in the final saga of the story. Zoro might be strong, but he is certainly not invincible.

Mihawk is the World's Strongest Swordsman, but he isn't without a rival in One Piece

In the Arlong Park arc of One Piece, Roronoa Zoro traded blows with the captain of the Arlong Pirates, and it was clear that he was outclassed completely. Zoro's swords were not able to overwhelm Arlong's nose, and that showed the massive difference in skill between them quite clearly.

As Zoro had a high fever and carried injuries of his own following his battle with Mihawk, a battle with Arlong would only have resulted in his death. He was even struggling in his battle against Hachi. Even if he was fresh, Arlong was simply way too powerful for Zoro to take on at that point in time.

One of the most humiliating defeats that Zoro has ever faced in his life came against the Yeti Cool Brothers in the Punk Hazard arc of One Piece.
