One of Batman's Most Famous Joker Cover Artworks Is Becoming a LEGO Set

LEGO is reimagining the famous Detective Comics #880 Joker cover created by acclaimed artist Mark "Jock" Simpson as a brick-built wall-art set. Announced alongside several other Batman sets, the flashy display piece is scheduled to hit LEGO's physical and digital store shelves in early 2027.

Originally published in 2011, Detective Comics #880 was written by Scott Snyder and illustrated by Jock during the acclaimed run later collected as Batman: The Black Mirror. The story belongs to the two-year period when Richard John "Dick" Grayson was operating as Batman rather than Bruce Wayne.

Carrying product number 67012, LEGO's newly revealed DC Batman The Joker Wall Art consists of 1,849 pieces and carries a $169.99 price tag. The Danish company formally announced it alongside 67008 Batman Returns Batmobile & Duck and 67009 Batman Arkham Knight Batmobile, priced at $59.99 and $29.99, respectively. All three sets are scheduled to launch as part of LEGO's January 2027 product wave. They will arrive as early as January 1 across North America and Europe, among other markets.

Unlike the smaller Batmobile sets, 67012 Joker Wall Art is an 18+ build aimed at adult collectors. LEGO's recreation preserves the stark black, white, and red color palette of the iconic Batman cover from September 2011, while also adding physical depth to the image. The Joker's eyes and other facial features protrude from the surface, with additional details hidden within deeper layers of the build. LEGO's official website is already offering pre-orders for the January 2027 Batman sets.
