The console wars have always been rather strange, as while the debate has almost always been about PlayStation and Xbox, Nintendo has quietly been winning countless battles on its own terms. The current Nintendo generation with the Switch 2 might not be able to compete in a straight-up performance battle, yet a lot of its target audience has been almost entirely ignored by the other consoles, leaving the doors wide open for Team Red to strike. Switch Sports Resort is one example of a game looking to target a specific demographic that has largely been untapped by PlayStation and Xbox, that being casual players and families looking to bond over some lighthearted sporting competitions.
