New Zelda Twilight Princess Release Quietly Confirmed for October

A new release tied to The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is set to release in October, but most fans of the franchise will be missing out. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess was originally released in 2006 for the Nintendo Wii as a launch title, and then came to the GameCube a couple of weeks later. Nintendo eventually made an HD remaster of the game for the Wii U, but it remains one of the few Zelda games that you can't play on modern hardware.

Despite persistent leaks and rumors for years, Nintendo has yet to bring the HD version of Twilight Princess to the Nintendo Switch. Many fans were counting on the recent Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct to finally announce the long-awaited port, but that came and went with no mention of Twilight Princess. While fans wait for more information on a possible Twilight Princess HD port, there is at least some proof that Nintendo hasn't forgotten about the game.

These seven Zelda games come closest to perfection, with designs so strong there’s very little I’d want Nintendo to change.

Takara Tomy is releasing a set of historical charms based on The Legend of Zelda franchise, with Twilight Princess included. As reported by Siliconera , the Zelda historical charms will be available in Japan gachapon machines starting October 2026 and will cost 300 yen or about $2. No plans for a worldwide release of the charms have been announced yet, but for Zelda fans in Japan, they should make neat collector's items.
