New Zelda: Ocarina of Time Trailer Reveal Dark Link

Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake just received two new trailers, showing Nintendo still has surprises up its sleeve ahead of the remake's launch in a few weeks. One trailer briefly shows the return of Dark Link, an antagonist throughout the series who appears in various games to duke it out with the silent hero, Link.

You can see him briefly at about the 15-second mark of the trailer. He pops up to flip onto Link's sword and him. Menacingly. Dude's just aura farming like the cool cat he is.

The trailer shows off Ganon playing the piano, Link on a pirate ship, and Link fighting various enemies in dungeons. A second trailer uploaded to Nintendo's Japanese YouTube account focuses on the ocarina, the Master Sword, and exploration of Hyrule.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will face heavy scrutiny from both fans of the original 1998 classic and modern gamers who've only played new games influenced by Ocarina. So far, Nintendo seems to have threaded that needle.

A spate of gameplay previews came out this week, and Polygon's Michael McWhertor wrote glowingly of his time with the update. "The remake is both incredibly impressive graphically and the game now plays better than ever," he wrote after playing for around 30 minutes. "One impression of the remake remained consistent throughout my hands-on time: Nintendo’s new Zelda is snappy, streamlined, and polished in ways that make it feel totally fresh."

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will be released on Nov.
