Sony's next Ratchet & Clank game has been scrapped before receiving a full release. On Friday, Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Oh BiBi announced Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble will be pulled from storefronts this month, and fully shut down next May.
Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble is a multiplayer shooter for Android and iOS. It was revealed almost a year ago to the day, on Nov. 12, 2025, and its reception was mixed at best. Sony soft-launched the game in various regions since then, most recently in the United Kingdom in August. Sony announced plans for a global launch over the summer, but the company has now reversed course.
"On behalf of the dev team and everyone helping to make the game, thanks to our amazing community for all your support, especially to those who have spent time playing, sharing feedback, and helping shape Ranger Rumble throughout its development!" reads the announcement on Ranger Rumble's site.
Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble is receiving a final update on Friday and will be entirely delisted from the App Store and Google Play Store on Nov. 21. Its servers will be permanently shut down on May 1, 2027, making the game unplayable. Ranger Rumble's website has an in-depth FAQ explaining how this shutdown will impact in-game rewards, season passes, and in-game currency.
Ratchet & Clank was created in 2002 by Insomniac Games, the studio that's now better known for Marvel games like September's Marvel's Wolverine . The franchise's last console release was 2021's excellent Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart .
