New $645 Pokemon Release Officially Confirmed for 2027

A brand-new Pokemon release has been confirmed for November 2027, with Gengar as the main focus. The catch, though, is that this new Pokemon release costs a whopping $645, which may put it out of reach for some fans.

Gengar was first introduced in Pokemon Generation 1. This Ghost/Poison-type Pokemon’s design became an instant fan-favorite, and it has only increased in popularity over the last 30 years. Gengar has been the subject of tons of impressive Pokemon fan creations over the years, but this new official release is certainly welcomed.

Pokemon Night Out combines EDM with Pokemon visuals, for a musical experience unlike anything I've seen before.

Sideshow Collectibles has officially opened pre-orders for its new Gengar diorama, which is priced at $645 and is expected to release between November 2027 and February 2028. The display piece features Gengar alongside its whole evolutionary line – Gastly and Haunter – twisted around a tree in a spooky diorama. While the Gengar display was first unveiled at PokemonXP 2026 earlier this year, Sideshow hasn't made it available for fans to pre-order until now.

The details on the piece are pretty incredible, with vibrant Pokemon designs inspired by the trio’s animated series appearances. Sculptor Matias Cabrera has even sculpted the trails of fog behind the Pokemon, giving the piece the illusion of motion. It stands at 14.5 inches tall, making it a pretty big display piece for any Pokemon collector out there.

Sideshow has announced a full line of Pokemon statues and dioramas, each celebrating some of the franchise’s most iconic designs.
