Naruto Uzumaki stood tall as Konoha's Seventh Hokage and, at the same time, the strongest shinobi in the entire world. In the Boruto series, Naruto Uzumaki eventually lost the powers of Kurama and was sealed away in the dimension of Daikokuten.
These are the most powerful clans in the Naruto universe and they have given birth to legendary fighters.
He was thus succeeded by many powerful ninjas in one way or another, and all of them have varying levels of strength. While some managed to live up to the standard set by Naruto and uphold his legacy, others failed in this task dramatically. Regardless, Naruto's many successors are special in their own way.
When it comes to the position of Hokage, Naruto Uzumaki was officially succeeded by none other than Shikamaru Nara. Shikamaru took the position of the temporary Hokage of Konoha and has ruled the village for three long years.
Shikamaru was one of the weakest ninjas in Konoha, and this remains true to this day. As a temporary Hokage, he is most certainly the weakest of the lot, but he still managed to succeed Naruto somehow. The primary reason for this could have been his time spent alongside Naruto Uzumaki, understanding his way of life and rule the best. That said, out of all the successors of Naruto, he is most certainly the most underwhelming of the lot, both in terms of strength and character writing in Boruto.
Konohamaru Sarutobi is a beloved character from the Naruto franchise who has continued to play a significant role in Boruto as well.
