Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Adds 'Non MilSim Content' Disclaimer to Halloween Themed Content

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 has added new disclaimers to content that may not abide by the game's usual grounded tone and aesthetic.

Earlier today, Modern Warfare 4 added a new mode known as Possession. It's a Halloween-themed mode that lets players "possess" the person they last killed, allowing you to both teleport to their last location and take their loadout. It's a really interesting idea for a mode, but of course, it doesn't adhere to the game's grounded, gritty, and more realistic tone. So, Infinity Ward added a "non-milsim content" disclaimer tag to the playlist before players search for a match.

The new Possession MP mode added to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 includes a warning:

This comes after years of players getting frustrated that Call of Duty's multiplayer often abandons the darker, more serious tone established by the campaign and seasonal lore drops. The franchise has added skins that allow players to play as Nicki Minaj, Beavis and Butthead, and Seth Rogen, which has come at the cost of the game's identity. Infinity Ward already promised to dial things back with Modern Warfare 4 and not include absurd, over-the-top skins, but this new disclaimer does suggest there will be some content that may ride a line for hardcore fans.

Of course, you can also make the argument that Call of Duty isn't realistic and it isn't really a "milsim" game, since it's so fast-paced and filled with ridiculous movement, Wolverine-style health regeneration, and more.
