Modern Warfare 4's DMZ Players Are Losing Loot to Server Crashes Despite Official Fix from Infinity Ward

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4's new extraction mode, DMZ, is experiencing server issues, causing players to lose newly earned loot.

Yesterday, Infinity Ward put its new extraction mode into early access ahead of MW4's full release on Friday. It's giving players a chance to mess around with the game's other offerings before the main course is unleashed, and while the reception has been glowing so far, there are some issues. The game's been having server crashes, casuing to players lose any loot they picked up.

Thankfully, any loot that you already extracted to the FOB and brought back into the DMZ as part of a loadout is safe, but anything you picked up during the run that you were booted from is lost. Infinity Ward claims the matter has been fixed and has confirmed what players will keep and lose.

"Players who disconnected due to this particular issue will retain the equipment they started the match with and their subsequent progression, but not the loot collected during the match," devs said in an update on Twitter/X.

📢 Call of Duty: #ModernWarfare4 | #DMZ Early Access

We’re aware of an issue causing some players to disconnect from matches. We’ve deployed a potential fix and are monitoring the results.

Players who disconnected due to this particular issue will retain the equipment they started the match with and their subsequent progression, but not the loot collected during the match.

Some players are still reporting problems, so your mileage may vary. Of course, it's difficult to ensure everything that a player had when they were booted is safe.
