Middle-earth Goes to War in The Rings of Power Season 3 Explosive Trailer

The flames of war threaten Middle-earth once again in the trailer for season 3 of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. Prime Video's fantasy series will officially return to streaming on Nov. 11, as Sauron's schemes finally come to fruition and the free people of the world have to choose between bending the knee and trying to topple the Dark Lord.

In the first two seasons of The Rings of Power, fans have gotten a good look at Middle-earth's fabled Second Age, thousands of years before the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. Sauron's treachery led the great elven smith Celebrimor to forge the Rings of Power, but neither the elves nor the dwarves nor the humans of mighty Numenor are aware that the Dark Lord is forging in secret his own One Ring, which will rule over all the others.

The Rings of Power has already shown a glimpse of Sauron's power with a teaser of the Naznagôl, the show's original take of the Nazgûl that appear in The Lord of the Rings. These are the lords of men who have been corrupted by Sauron's influence, and are presented as a proto-stage of the Nazgûl before they fully turn into Ringwraiths. After the fall of Eregion, the remaining stronghold of freedom in Middle-earth, Numenor, Khazad-dûm, and the elven realms of Lindon and Rivendell, will have to unite to fight the Dark Lord and his armies.

D. Payne and Patrick McKay return for the third season of The Rings of Power , joined by director Charlotte Brändström.
