Mass Effect's Leviathan Gets A $300 Dark Horse Statue For N7 Day

Turns out when a series is big enough, it takes more than canceling its next installment and closing the studio behind it to make it go away, especially when you make that baffling decision weeks before the day its fans use to celebrate it each year. That's why, even though we may never get another Mass Effect game, we have been hit with a wave of new Mass Effect merch in the wake of BioWare's closure.

The latest addition to that wave is a new statue created by Dark Horse Direct. The latest in a long line of officially licensed Mass Effect statues and figures created by the collectibles company, it's latest, and potentially final, release tied to the series depicts the iconic moment in Mass Effect 3 when Shepard comes face-to-face with Leviathan.

Filmmakers have been inside BioWare working on the doc for two years.

Dark Horse teased its new Mass Effect release earlier in the week, confirming that its imminent reveal wasn't a mistake, and that despite BioWare's closure, it wanted to give fans of the studio something to look forward to on N7 Day. The tease noted that the statue would get its full reveal at 9 am PT on November 6. However, that reveal appears to have happened a little earlier than planned, as pre-orders for the Leviathan statue are already live on the Dark Horse website.

That means we can now see the statue in all its glory. A stunning recreation of the Leviathan, a race that predates even the Reapers in the Mass Effect universe, but one that the apocalyptic enemies have no knowledge of since they are hidden deep beneath the waves.
