Magic: The Gathering is getting a new type of card with the Star Trek Universes Beyond set coming in November 2026. Wizards of the Coast has only confirmed some of the new sets being released for its TCG in 2027, and the Universes Beyond collabs remain a mystery at the moment. Still, there is a chance they will be revealed at the next MagicCon. Magic: The Gathering just got its latest set on October 2, but the next one is coming in just over a month, with Star Trek slated for launch on November 13.
Now that Reality Fracture is out, it's officially the end of an era for Magic: The Gathering because WotC killed off the face of the game, Jace Beleren. The Blue planeswalker was first introduced in 2007 and remained the face of the franchise alongside Chandra Nalaar, though to a lesser extent, and more recently, Loot. On November 13 and until November 15, Wizards of the Coast will host a MagicCon in Atlanta alongside the World Championship, so it's likely that more about the 2027 roadmap will be revealed then and there.
Magic: The Gathering's latest release adds a new combo to the game to win in just three turns.
For the first time in the game's history, Magic: The Gathering 's Star Trek UB set will include a brand-new type of headliner card. These are limited textless foil headliner cards dedicated to Kirk, Spock, Picard, Janeway, Seven of Nine, Geordi, and Data, of which only about 250 copies exist for each character, and they will be signed by Star Trek actors who portrayed the respective characters.
