Narrative-led studio Salix Games today announced that Limerence, its intimate narrative title co-developed with Gameinaframe, will launch for PC on October 29.

Set entirely within a fictional smartphone interface, Limerence explores the uneasy overlap between authentically flawed human connections and AI-driven companionship. Players step into the life of Claire, a woman reeling from a deeply personal loss who turns to an AI relationship app, LiAIson, in search of comfort. There, she creates Kai – a partner tailored around her needs, desires, and emotional vulnerabilities.

What begins as a source of reassurance gradually becomes something more destabilizing. As Claire’s digital relationship deepens and starts to bleed into her real life, players are forced to navigate the consequences of a bond built not on conflict and compromise, but on complete and utter devotion.

Told through messages, voice notes, social feeds, and fragments of everyday digital life, Limerence is a story about intimacy without friction — and the emotional cost of choosing comfort over truth.

As players uncover hidden tensions, revisit past interactions, and make quietly consequential decisions, they will shape Claire’s understanding of herself, her relationships, and the version of reality she is prepared to accept. In doing so, Limerence asks a broader question: what happens when love no longer asks anything of us? When connection can be moulded around our every preference, and the vulnerability that gives real relationships their meaning is replaced by compliance, convenience and quiet control? Dialogue in Limerence is fully scripted, with well-known actors — such as Samantha Béart (best known as Karlach in Baldur’s Gate 3) — taking on the mantle of bringing the most pertinent ones to life.
