Konami Planning 'Second and Third Waves' of New Silent Hill Games

Konami is planning "second and third waves" of new Silent Hill games, according to producer Motoi Okamoto.

Okamoto offered a foggy glimpse into the classic horror franchise's future during an interview featured in Famitsu Issue 1965 (via Game Observer). The series ended a long, painful drought without new games with an initial wave of new releases over the last few years, and now that this first batch is out, Konami is already looking forward to what it can do next.

"All three titles we initially announced were able to be released successfully, so we’re relieved (laughs)," he noted. "They’ve also received high praise, and we are satisfied with it."

Okamoto continued: "Successfully launching this 'first wave' comes with great relief, but we’re not stopping here; we must think of the second and third waves. We can’t share specific details, but we’re currently looking at a number of projects."

The first wave of Konami's return to Silent Hill – which included titles like the Silent Hill 2 remake, Silent Hill f, and last month's Silent Hill: Townfall – rolled out throughout the last few years. Townfall arrived as the most recent installment when it dropped players into the shoes of protagonist Simon Ordell in a '90s Scotland just last month.

It received generally favorable reviews, with IGN giving it an 8/10 .
